MARK MAKING, TONE & PATTERN
Thoughts
- I generally found the mark making session an interesting experience. I have always associated mark making with simply cross-hatching or stippling. I never really explored any other ways of creating 'texture' on the surface.
- I feel that it was something I don't often use in my own practice (cross-hatching perhaps?) Though with the task above and the city brief made me reconsider incorporating mark-making and patterns within my own work. I think it is effective when wanting to communicate a certain aesthetic (?) it adds texture and an analog/hand-crafted tone to the work.
